Our family, our kitchen
Since 2007, La Mestiza has been a family-run restaurant in Madison serving food rooted in the traditions and recipes we grew up with. Every dish comes from scratch, drawn from the many regions of Mexico that shaped our kitchen.
Flavors from our childhood
The dishes you find at La Mestiza are the ones our family has been making for generations—Cochinita Pibil, Borrego in Pasilla, Carne in Guajillo, and Chiles Rellenos that rarely appear on menus anywhere else. We prepare them from scratch because that's how they're meant to taste.
What sets us apart
Our mole enchiladas, housemade tamales, and fresh-lime margaritas reflect the depth of Mexican cuisine beyond what most places can offer. Everything is made with intention—from our homemade horchata to the salsas that balance every plate.
